Born and raised on the island of Saipan, Peter Francis Reyes Muña is a lifelong educator with nearly 13 years of teaching experience. He currently teaches Chamorro and Environmental Science at Saipan Southern High School. A proud graduate of the island’s public school system, he went on to earn his Associate’s degree from Seattle Central College, his Bachelor’s from the University of Washington, and his Master of Education from Framingham State University.

 

Before entering the classroom, Peter spent 26 years working with KCTS/9 (PBS) and later founded Sound Media, LLC, where he has spent 17 years serving both Public Broadcasting Service or PBS and National Public Radio or NPR stations across the U.S. Today, his priorities are shaped by his work with students and the community, focusing on improving infrastructure, expanding youth opportunities, protecting public spaces, supporting tourism, and promoting transparency in government.
