Frances Marie 'Kika' Guerrero Sablan

Hafa Adai, my name is Frances Marie Guerrero Sablan. My parents are Manuel C. and Margarita G. Sablan of Gualo Rai. I grew up on the island of Saipan, surrounded by family and friends. We were raised in the traditional Chamorro fashion; family, culture, and gratitude.

Through my father, I learned how to think independently, about the importance of respecting and preserving nature, and the conservation of our natural resources. From my mother, I learned about the importance of family; caring, providing, and supporting each other when times were difficult; about the importance of cultural traditions; about shared knowledge pass down from mother to daughter; about how to navigate the difficulty of bring a woman in a man's world.

It's time for us to come together as a community, as a country. It is time for us to bring back integrity, accountability, and transparency to the CNMI government. Change does not have to be radical. It could be as simple as letting the system function the way it was designed to.
