About the Primary
The Democratic Party of the Northern Mariana Islands will host its Presidential Primary from March 5-12 on the islands of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. The primaries will be the first step in the CNMI’s participation in this nationwide process, and during this time, not only will Democrats elect their presidential nominee, they will also elect delegates to attend the August 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
As of January 18, 2024, four candidates have qualified for the DPNMI Presidential Primary ballot.

2024 Delegate Selection Plan
The Democratic Party of the Northern Mariana Islands is pleased to share our Delegate Selection Plan as approved in "full compliance" by the DNC Rules & Bylaws Committee. Our state's Delegate Selection Plan outlines the procedures for selecting delegates to represent the Northern Mariana Islands at the 2024 Democratic National Convention, to be held from August 19 - 22 2024 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
This plan is an important step towards ensuring that the voices of our NMI Democrats are heard at the national level, and we encourage all interested voters to join us for our Presidential Primary to be held from March 5-12 on the islands of Saipan, Tinian, & Rota.
